Bill Gates Claims Trump Made A Mistake By Imposing Travel Bans During The Early Days Of The Pandemic
President Donald Trump’s management of the coronavirus has been hailed nationwide as a total disaster. Every new step Donald Trump took in a bid to defeat the virus has, in a way, backfired. Now, the Trump administration is under fire, but the announcement of the vaccine has brought the bad spotlight on him in the place of a positive one containing loads of lauds as the President might have expected.
A string of politicians, observers, celebrities, and health experts have heavily slammed Trump for failing America in its fight against coronavirus, despite boasting the best healthcare system in the world. The personality that has resubscribed to the "slam-club" is the multi-billionaire and Bill & Melinda Gates co-founder Bill Gates.
Bill Gates said that Trump’s decision during the early days of the pandemic led to a meteoric rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the country. As per Gates, the travel ban is one of the major contributors to the pandemic getting worse in the country.
In conversation with anchor Chris Wallace of Fox News, Bill Gates, who besides being Microsoft founder is also a great thinker, shed light on the bad helming of the US throughout the bulk of the pandemic.
Gates also credits people’s careless attitude towards the pandemic for significantly raising the risks of virus spread – people returned to the lack of safety measure after just a few weeks of the pandemic which resulted in the faster spread and more hospitalizations.
Bill Gates said, "We created this rush, and we didn't have the ability to test and quarantine those people. You know, the ban probably accelerated that, the way it was executed. Even though, we had seen China... and Europe and the clear message of how to behave wasn’t there.”
This is not the first time that Gates has openly criticized the Trump administration’s approach to containing the virus. In April, after Donald Trump announced the United States’ withdrawal of funding from the World Health Organization (WHO), Bill Gates suggested that the step was only to make matters worse and wasn’t necessarily needed. In addition, he also said the entire coronavirus testing system was a hoax.
Trump’s decision to cut funding to the World Health Organization came after he accused the WHO of favoring China over other nations in need. Not just Bill Gates but Trump took flak from many more.
The Fox News interview with Bill Gates will air on Sunday - more insights on the way for rushing leaders to listen to and understand.
