Jennifer Aniston Has Proved She Is A Good Actress Amid Speculations About Whether She Can Win Emmys This Year
Jennifer Aniston has been nominated in the category of the “best actress in a drama” for the first time at this year’s Emmy Awards on Sunday. However, the actress has given several great performances over the years.
Aniston is now a veteran actress in Hollywood and came into prominence for the first time while portraying the role of Rachel Green in the NBC sitcom Friends (1994 to 2004). She was sadly typecast after acting in the iconic sitcom.
After the sitcom ended in 2004, she acted in many films. While some of these movies were successful at the Box Office, there were others that bombed badly. Actors like Jason Bateman and Adam Sandler were Jen’s co-stars in many of these films.
Although the actress has had six nominations at the Emmys previously including her solo win in 2002, her critics were more focused on complimenting her flawless hair and making disparaging remarks of her being a lightweight actress,
However, much to the chagrin of her detractors, many experts predict the 51-year-old to be a front-runner at this year’s Emmys slated to be held on Sept. 20, 2020. She has enthralled her viewers in the role of an aging television hostage who is about to have a nervous breakdown in the hit series The Morning Show.
The series is streamed on Apple TV+. Critics just should not underestimate Jennifer Aniston this time around just because some of them have predicted Olivia Colman or Laura Linney to win.
Tom O’ Neill, the founder of Gold Derby reminded New York Post that Jen bagged the SAG Award this year. Incidentally, its voting system is the same as the Emmys. In both these award ceremonies, just actors are allowed to vote for other actors.
O’ Neill feels that Jen has made an impressive comeback in her acting career with this TV series. The actress has been playing the role of a popular celeb on television that has to struggle against the ruthless world for her survival.
Her character faces threats of being upstaged by rising stars that are much younger than her. The series also explores her plight when she comes across some dangerous betrayals and terrible secrets.
Her detractors should not forget that there have been multiple occasions when the actress has proved her versatility in acting. Jen had professional training in acting and made her debut on the Broadway stage at the young age of 19 in 1988. Not many are aware that she made a low-profile return to Broadway in 2006 and 2009.
Can all her past feats help Jennifer Aniston to win an Emmy this time around? Fans have to wait till Sunday to find out.
