Taylor Swift made her comeback to the Academy of Country Music Awards in its 55th ceremony after a long wait. However, it seems that the long wait was worth as her performance rocked the stage.
The 30-year-old has previously won ACM Awards nine times before and this time she performed Betty from her latest studio album, Folklore that made and broke many records. It marked the Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour Live star first show in the past seven years. Fans took social media to praise the sweet comeback of the beloved singer.
While ACM Awards has been performed at different iconic venues, the singer made her magnificent appearance from the Grand Ole Opry House. The venue is known to be a legendary location in Nashville which has been utilized by the ACM Awards organizers to create a base for the entire event.
The singer performed her track on the stage while she was settled comfortably on a stool. In the background, there was a dark setup and the spotlight focused on the star. There was a booming light from the background coming towards the performer and spreading across the room.
Apparently, the singer did all her styling without any help that includes makeup and hairstyle. Swift took Twitter to announce that she will be appearing on the event on Sept. 13 and teased fans with a video promo along with the caption.
Swift wrote that she will be attending ACM's party and added a cat emoji. Fans noted that the stars revealed some Easter eggs in the latest dropped track and soon she revealed after releasing Folklore that Betty song was named after Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' third baby.
The singer explained that she loves the kind of music that allows her to portray various personalities. She said that singing from different people’s points of view is a completely different experience. She disclosed in an interview with Country Radio that all the names taken in the performed songs are actually based on children of her friends.
"I've always loved that in music you can kind of slip into different identities, and you can sing from other people's perspectives. So that's what I did on this one. I named all the characters in this story after my friends' kids," Swift said. This is something fresh and interesting for the fans to experience and they envy the singer for her creative decision.
