Queen Elizabeth And Prince Philip Seen Leaving Balmoral Castle, Heading To Windsor To Resume Face To Face Engagements
The Queen’s decision to return to Sandringham Palace and later on to Buckingham palace after it was reported that she was no longer going to do appearances this year was welcomed with wonder by many people.
There was also rumors that the promptness of the Palace’s decision to bring back the Queen to Buckingham was caused by health issues. But this has been debunked.
Last week, Royal officials announced the Queens plans for the upcoming months. According to the statement the Palace released, the Queen was to cut her summer holiday in Balmorals in the Scottish Highlands shorter than expected, and is to proceed to Sandringham Palace until further notice.
Today, the Queen and Prince Philip were pictured leaving Balmorals Castle in Scotland and heading to the airport, an hour away from the Castle.
They were seen boarding a private jet and expected to be in Sandringham Palace by now. The Queen and Prince Philip will then stay in the palace as deemed necessary.
The lockdown has pushed the Queen and Philip to leave under the same roof for several months. After Prince Philip’s retirement from his royal duties in 2017, the Duke of Edinburgh has made Wood Farm his home.
According to a source the couple was given no choice but to stay together during the pandemic, as there are only limited stuff to take care of them.
“Philip didn't want to go to Balmoral and doesn't want to go to Windsor. But there is not enough staff to make two bubbles so he is being made to go." the source explains.
The Queen’s early return is said to be due to Prime Minister Boris Johnson urging government operatives to return to their posts and offices, the Queen took this as a sign that she should resume her duties as a public head.
Health worries have been a big deal for many of the royal fans of the Queen, as she is in the high risk group due to her age for COVID 19.
The Palace has not issued a statement regarding the health protocols of the sovereign but they confirmed that she was to resume her duties, only to ‘selected audiences and engagements’.
Other than the Queen and Prince Philip heading to Sandringham, their son, Prince Andrew was also pictured leaving Balmorals.
The Duke of York stayed with the Queen and Prince Philip for two weeks, wherein they were rumored to have had ‘crisis talk’.
