Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth were used to living apart for the most part of the year.

Following the Duke of Edinburgh’s retirement in 2017, he moved to Sandringham, where he could enjoy some peace and quiet away from hustle and bustle of the city.

While speaking with Hello! magazine, Dickie Arbiter talked about the queen and Prince Philip’s recent quarantine.

“They’ve obviously enjoyed being together. They don’t live in each other’s pockets… but they do enjoy each other’s company,” he said.

A few weeks ago, it was confirmed that the queen will be staying in Woodfarm for the next couple of weeks. Arbiter said that the decision to do so is just right.

“Sandringham is a big house and requires a lot of staff. In a situation like this, you have to consolidate. It makes sense to concentrate your staff in one place. The queen is very frugal and also very mindful of other people, so she will have wanted people to be able to have a break before setting up another bubble at Windsor,” he said.

According to reports, palace officials are setting up a new bubble between Sandringham and Berkshire so that the queen could regularly visit Prince Philip during the weekends.

Hello! magazine also said that the queen usually stays in Scotland until the second week of October. But her decision to leave Scotland weeks earlier could mean that Balmoral will soon be open to visitors.

“Subject to the finalization of the autumn program, Her Majesty’s intention is to return to Windsor Castle in October and to resume the use of Buckingham Palace for selected audiences and engagements,” the source said.

The queen’s intention to return to Buckingham Palace, reportedly, shows just how dedicated she is to her royal duties.

“She wants to get back to work properly and go to the office like everyone else, but she’s not going to put herself in danger. She has been holding audiences over Zoom and on the telephone, but in an ideal world she would prefer to do it face to face and it’s more convenient for those attending the audience to do it in London rather than at Windsor,” Arbiter said.
