Rami Malik’s Take On His Villain Role In James Bond’s Next ‘No Time To Die’
The next James Bond movie and Daniel Craig’s last No Time to Die has spurred up a great amount of enthusiasm among 007 fans – and especially the fiery trailer that is springy enough to get the attention of the busiest.
One of the major roles in the movies, besides the spy himself, is going to belong to the main antagonist played by actor Rami Malik.
Rami Malik is in the role of Safin, a terrorist leader who is seeking revenge on his past enemies. As per director Cary Fukunaga, Safin is the most vicious of all the villains that James Bond has ever encountered in decades of the run – everything his crummy mind is cooking is poisonous to both the Bond and the world in a very different manner.
More so, Safin won’t be like previous 007 villains in appearance, as a matter of fact, the No Time to Die antagonist will appear as a heavily scarred villain who often wears a mask of white color to cover his face. In a way that reminds of some comic book-based movies, however, it certainly will have its own sense of originality.
Safin is unlike others, Fukunaga suggests so, but Malik’s take is even more intriguing. According to the Bohemian Rhapsody actor, Safin is a “formidable adversary” who Bond will have to change his strategies for. The actor added on to say that his effort was to present Safin as an “unsettling” character who has got heroic ambitions.
Building on that, a repellant force is observed in the character, between good and evil. In other words, it's a villain who wishes to be a hero which indicates it will definitely be a blast.
Going by trailer which dropped just a few weeks back, Safin kills more than millions which in itself is a statement of what kind of clash fans are going to experience with No Time to Die.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is credited with perfecting the character over time. About her contribution to building the essence of the character, the actor said:
“She had quite an impact on what I was doing. I’d have long phone conversations with her, giving her context as to what we were essentially looking for in the scenes – she would turn things over incredibly quickly.”
Craig’s final 007 movie is a constant source of a tease for fans across the globe as it promises an unmissable treat that is typical of Bond movies but at a different extent.
