Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Benevolence Revealed, Couple Donates Over $100,000 For Coronavirus Relief
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their maiden public donation amid the coronavirus pandemic. The couple’s contribution will go towards providing food packages and hot meals to needy people in the United Kingdom.
The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex would be donating the profits made from the broadcast of their royal wedding. Their donation will go to a charity that is dedicated to families amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andrew Forsey, the national director for a charity called Feeding Britain confirmed the report that the donation was sourced from funds raised by Harry and his wife’s royal wedding broadcast on BBC. While the duo is yet to address their donation publicly, they are allegedly “delighted” that their money will be used for a noble cause.
Harry and Markle would be donating $112,000 to the charity Feeding Britain, which works to alleviate hunger, NBCNews.com reports. They took the decision after discussing the efforts being made by the group with the Archbishop of Canterbury.
One of their spokespersons mentioned on Wednesday that the couple had “fond memories” of the organization after visiting their market and observing how compassionate the workers were. The Duke and his wife could recently interact with The Archbishop and were empathetic after hearing about the good work being done by the organization.
The money donated by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will eventually lead to supplying food packages and hot meals to thousands of needy families especially those having low incomes. The donation aims to help families that are unable to have three meals a day. According to Delish.com, the organization is delivering food to people in twelve distinct locations in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, other members of the Royal Family are also doing their best to give back and motivate people during this health crisis. Prince William and Kate Middleton have interacted with first responders and teachers to express their gratitude.
Even Queen Elizabeth II addressed the nation in one of her rare speeches last week. The Queen urged the country to stay strong.
The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex have plans to come up with their own nonprofit enterprise, which they plan to call Archewell. The couple relinquished their royal duties last month after departing from their roles of senior Royal Family members.
They initially went to Vancouver Island, Canada but eventually relocated to Los Angeles, California, a city where Markle grew up. There is no proper clarity on what the couple will do going forward.
Meghan Markle recently narrated a Disney documentary called “Elephants” after stepping down from her royal role. Royal followers might see a lot of benevolence and charity work from Prince Harry and his wife in the coming days.
