In the latest interview with Behind the Lens YouTube series, the actor revealed details of his new book called The Rock: Through the Lens: His Life, His Movies, His World. The upcoming book has been launched with Hiram Garcia's collaboration with the actor.
Garcia has worked with Johnson for a long time as a producing partner and photographer. In the video from Behind the Lens, the actor could be seen discussing with Hiram about the project and revealed that the book will mention several moments that even Johnson is unaware of.
While the actor admitted knowing some of the events that he captured in the book, others might surprise him along with his fans. The long term associates discussed one such moment when Johnson was preparing himself for his father's funeral, Rocky Johnson.
The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star's father passed away in January. The actor recalled that he told Garcia about having no idea what speech to deliver at his father's eulogy. Johnson said that he quickly wrote a brief note a couple of hours before the speech and delivered it at the funeral.
Furthermore, the clip revealed that the book will also mention one of the young fans of Johnson. The book will peak into the connection the actor had with his late fan who was just seven years old when he died because of cancer.
The little fan named Gabriel Singleton met his idol in 2016 after waiting for a couple of months. Singleton got to meet his star on Baywatch's set before he died. Behind the Lens series will be continued on the official YouTube page of Johnson in which the star will be seen discussing his awkward moment during the Walk of Fame in 2017 with his daughter Jasmine.
“I walked towards Lauren and I start to bend down and my mom and Lauren thought I was going to propose! They were like, ‘Ahhhh ...’ I went, ‘Come here, let me [take] Jazzy. Afterwards everyone’s like, ‘Uh, we thought you were going to propose, in that moment.’ I’m like, ‘No, not in front of everybody,’” the actor explained the awkward moment.
