It’s a serious and huge leap forward for the Jonathan Majors who rose to prominence with 2019’s independent feature The Last Man in San Francisco which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. The 31-year-old actor has bagged an important role in the third part of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Ant-Man.

As per confirmation from Variety, Majors will be in the main role opposite Ant-Man stars Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd. No official comments have emerged from the studio, however, reputable sources close to the project have suggested that the actor will be the main antagonist as the super-villain Kang the Conquerer.

In addition to that, there is a strong likelihood that due to a number of new characters in the franchise, the roles may be twisted in an unlikely manner in future films. Notwithstanding, it’s almost certain that Majors is playing one of the main villains in the upcoming Ant-Man movie.

In terms of cast and story, the movie will be a lot different from the first ones but the director for the latest project is still the same - Peter Reed is returning one more time to perch on director’s seat while Jeff Loveness composes the script.

Alongside the director and screenwriter, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios will serve as the producers for the project.

If we go by what’s in the comic books, Kang the Conqueror is time-traveling from one era to another, and on his way, he encounters and battles superheroes from Thor to SpiderMan and more from the Avengers clan. However, that may not have a lot of impact on how the movie portrays the super-villain, therefore it’s a safe bet to say Majors' role may be altogether different.

The year 2020 has been one heck of a ride for the young actors, a legit standout performance has been entirely evident. The actor starred in Da 5 Bloods opposite Delroy Lindo from Spike Lee and then went on to star in the much-awaited horror series Lovecraft Country in the lead role of Atticus. Lovecraft County helped bring wider limelight on the actor which has got him. The horror drama series comes from producers Misha Greene and Jordan Peele alongside many others.

Currently, Majors is starring in Netflix’s The Harder They Fall (in production right now), in the role of outlaw Nat Love. Not much is known about Ant-Man 3's production or release, but Majors entry has undoubtedly spurred up a new wave of energy among fans.
