Prince Andrew Not To Be Included On Prince Philip's 100th Birthday, 'Included As Little As Possible'
The scandals that engulfed the royal family in the past year has been a game-changer for the institution. From the bombshell allegations thrown at Prince Andrew to the exit of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The royal family has a never-ending stream of unfortunate events.
But one scandal that has been knocking on the palace doors since its revelation is Prince Andrew’s relationship with billionaire pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. The shocking revelation unsettled many in the royal family, but most importantly, it cost Prince Andrew the respect of his father.
According to sources, the Duke of Edinburgh requested that Prince Andrew's presence during his 100th birthday be downplayed.
A statement released by Palace Officials regarding the Duke of Edinburgh's birthday celebration revealed that it will be through a public exhibit of photos and paintings of the Duke and other members of the royal family, this includes all his children and such.
Prince Andrew's role on the Duke's birthday will be limited, and the probability of the Prince not being part of the celebrations is big. "There is a warning from up high to play down Andrew. He will be included as little as possible. But it will not make a big deal of his relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh over the years,” a source tells the Sun.
Prince Philip's treatment of his son is no surprise, after all, Prince Andrew has been often compared to Prince Philip during his younger years. Prince Philip's expectation of his son has gone cold after his involvement with Epstein.
Prince Andrew dropped his royal obligations last Nov. 2019, after he received severe backlash from Britons for an interview. In the BBC interview, Prince Andrew explained his relationship with Epstein as well as the fact that many of the viewers noticed that the Prince showed no remorse whatsoever.
This has led to some harrowing explanation from the Royal palace.
The Prince was also not in attendance at his daughter’s wedding, Princess Beatrice, which, according to royal experts, has shown how far the rabbit hole Prince Andrew is in currently. The only prominent royals in attendance during Princess Beatrice's wedding were Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
Prince Philip’s disapproval of the action of his son is said to be prominent and that during his visit to Balmorals, where the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were spending summer holidays, Prince Philip's treatment towards Andrew was extremely strained.
The royal family has a lot of events to organize and attend to next year, the 100th birthday of Prince Philip and the commemoration of the 60th birthday of the late Princess Diana.
