Kelly Clarkson Wants To Keep Her Divorce Private For A Reason
Kelly Clarkson is popular for being outspoken about her professional as well as personal life. However, there is something that she wants to keep private and that is her divorce details with Brandon Blackstock.
The 38-year-old singer opened up in the latest interview with the Los Angeles Times about her personal life and revealed that she is keen to keep the matters under the hood. Clarkson and her husband, Blackstock who worked as tour manager stayed together in the wedlock for seven years.
The first American Idol winner filed for divorce in March, which shocked many fans as they had no public word regarding a troubled marriage. The 43-year-old manager shares two children with Clarkson, Remington who is four-year-old and River Rose who is six-year-old while he already had two children with Melissa Ashworth, Savannah Blackstock, and Seth Blackstock.
During the interview, Clarkson noted that she has always been very open with her fans and followers since 2002. However, her divorce is something that is an absolute private matter and she doesn't wish to reveal many details about it. The Kelly Clarkson Show host further disclosed that the primary reason is her children that holds her back to "truly open" about her divorce.
“I think that I will navigate a way in which to be open and honest about it eventually, probably via the show, and it’ll probably, I’m assuming, happen organically when someone says something in conversation or something. It definitely wouldn’t be planned," she explained.
The singer addressed not only her own children but also Blackstock's children who are involved in it. The Since U Been Gone singer said that there are many "little hearts" that will get affected by this and asked the interviewer to imagine how others react to such a situation.
Clarkson admitted when others react in a sad way to such news then it is unimaginable how much these little ones are going to get influenced. She confessed it is a lot to deal with and process as a family. As the situation is going to impact a close-knit group of people, she believed revealing details might hurt them further.
Given that, the Trolls World Tour star is grateful for everything she had achieved. In fact, she spoke about her therapist with whom she discussed having a platform to express her feelings when required, unlike her own mother who struggled to express her feelings.
