The decision the Sussex’s made regarding their exit from the royal family sent shockwaves, the real reason behind their exit has yet to be revealed. But during their time in the royal family, Harry and Meghan did not have it easy, and after about 2 years of working as senior royal, they decided that the royal life was not for them.

This decision may seem easy for Meghan, the Duchess who is a commoner have no titles and royal obligations that she has held since she was young.

On the other hand, Prince Harry had to sacrifice a lot to get out of the royal family.

The Prince who is a patron for numerous charities and organizations have lost many of them. Deciding to be no longer a senior royal, the royal institution had to forego many of the organizations he supported for a long time.

Not only that but the Prince also lost his ‘HRH’ title as one of the middle ground deals he and the royal firm decided.

But most of all, insiders believe that the Prince was most hurt when many of his military titles were taken off of him.

Prince Harry, who had a 10-year career in the British Armed Forces was given numerous titles in the military. His service in Afghanistan saw him rise in the rank of the armed forces.

The Prince carries the titles, Lieutenant Commander of the Royal Navy, Major of the British Army and Squadron Leader of the Royal Air Force. The following titles are still held by the Prince, as he is a veteran from the army.

His other ranks, which are titles given to him by the royal institution were removed, such as Captain General Royal Marines, Honorary Air Commandant, RAF Honington and Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving, Royal Naval Command.

According to insiders close to the royal couple, Prince Harry was hurt when he had to relinquish his honorary titles.

Meghan Markle was said to be ‘annoyed’ at the circumstances and deemed the whole thing as ‘unnecessary’. Although the Duchess seemed to have an upturned nose about it, ‘Finding Freedom’ authors revealed that the Duchess was also disappointed at the situation.

Meghan was said to have told a close friend that, "'It was so unnecessary', Meghan later told a friend of the decision to strip Harry of his military honors. And it's not just taking something away from him; it's also that entire military veteran community. You can see how much he means to them, too. So why? The powers [of the institution] are unfortunately greater than me.”

Harry and Meghan have made camp in California since their withdrawal from the Royal Institution.
