Greyson Chance Pleads In Ending Stigmas On New Song 'Bad To Myself'
From the beginning of ‘Bad To Myself,’ it's crystal clear that Greyson Chance is enduring something. In the newest music video of the 23-year-old singer, it shows his state of weariness; however, that is not all. As per Hollywood Life, the singer-songwriter is drinking beyond his capacity, eating too little, and pushing himself further to something that makes him go in-depth.
“Oh, I’m throwing my tears to the fire / Lately, I’m so damn tired / Of being bad to myself,” part of the lyrics sings.
The climax of the song is the part where Chance revealed his struggle with anorexia. In a statement shared by the singer, he said that the song is one of his moves in making true to his promise of doing better and working on to become healthier.
The track hails Teddy Geiger as one of the son’s lyricist, alongside Chance in 2019 while the singer is amid fulfilling his hectic schedule. Furthermore, Chance realized that he should prioritize his health, both mental and physical.
Chance sits with the celebrity dedicated news site via e-mail, where he shares his motivation why he decided to publicize his eating and how his newest sing entry has helped him over his agitating struggle.
As the interview went on, Chance revealed that it took him two long years of struggling privately, including his recovery, allowing him to feel confident about himself.
Moreover, he pleaded to anyone who is experiencing the same struggle to know that they are not alone and that they can make it through the hardships. Chance added that he shared his story to bring hope and enlightenment to the social stigma that rallies around the eating disorders.
When asked about how he uses ‘Bad To Myself’ in promoting self-care, the ‘Sunshine and City Lights’ singer said that throughout quarantine, he was able to spend most of his time listening and creating music that reminds him of his strength as an artist. He then added that he made his new song, aiming to inspire his listeners and fans.
In line with the self-care theme of ‘Bad To Myself,’ Hollywood Life asked Chance on what was the last good thing he did for himself. The singer answered that he made pasta the night before, taking inspiration from an old family recipe. Moreover, cooking pasta made him very happy, giving him all-smiles.
