Prince Harry And Meghan Markle 'Trump' Obamas With Their Netflix Deal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are following Obamas in the professional sphere of their life. A few weeks back, the Sussexes signed a big multi-year deal with streaming company Netflix which Obamas had done a year earlier. Not long after, a claim comes floating about that the Sussexes have taken over the Obamas as far as the value of the deal with the streaming platform is concerned.
According to an expert's evaluation of Netflix’s deal with Obamas and the Sussexes, the deal that the royal pair struck with the streaming platform is worth more than one that the Obamas inked right after their departure from the White House.
The size and details of the Sussexes’ big Netflix deal have been kept under the wraps by both the royal pair and Netflix representatives – the exact value, duration, and nature of the deal are still unknown. However, some experts believe the deal’s worth may be in the range of £35 and £75 million.
As per the chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, Eric Schiffer, the real value of Meghan and Harry’s deal with Netflix may measure up to £122 million, which, no doubt, is pretty hefty.
Eric believes that the Sussex-Netflix deal is one of the biggest in the streaming platform’s long, eventful, and successful history. Besides that, the expert also suggested that the value 'trumps' the Obama-Netflix deal by a large margin.
Shedding light on the Sussex-Netflix deal, Eric said that the connection of Meghan and Harry with the Netflix is an 'economic earthquake.' The expert further added on to say that the deal 'sets on fire' anything the royal pair has done before in terms of precedent.
Barack and Michelle Obama inked the production deal with the streaming platform in May 2018. Throughout the multi-year contract, the former POTUS and FLOTUS have created documentaries such as BAFTA-nominated American Factory.
Quite in line with the Obamas, the Sussex pair plans on creating documentaries, social series, children's programming and TV shows, also scripted dramas.
In conversation with Newsweek, Mr. Schiffer said that the Duke and Duchess must be under a lot of pressure after striking the deal to produce what remains aligned with their style and the royal philosophy. According to Schiffer, Netflix is going to guide the couple to create quality products.
Royal experts and fans can’t wait to see what the Duke and Duchess have got in store for the world to see and take away.
