Kim Kardashian Reveals 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Will End After 20 Seasons
The Kardashians family propelled straight to skyrocketing popularity with the debut of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in Oct. 2007 reality television series that aired on the E! cable network, paving the way for the Kardashian-Jenner sisters to global recognition and fame. Much to the chagrin of the show's huge fanbase, KUWTK is slated to end after season 20.
The influential family announced that they would be saying goodbye to the hit reality series after fourteen years and twenty seasons. The announcement came in the form of a heartfelt statement via an Instagram post shared by Kim Kardashian West on Tuesday on behalf of the entire family including matriarch Kris Jenner, herself, sisters Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian, and brother Rob Kardashian and Kourtney's ex-partner Scott Disick.
Addressing the amazing, and mammoth KUWTK fanbase, Kim started the message admitting that they have made the difficult decision as a family with heavy hearts to say goodbye to the reality show. She pointed out that they are grateful to the viewers of the show who became a part of their family for 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes, and numerous spin-off shows.
"Through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears," the KKW Beauty founder wrote in the emotional message. She went on to say the family will forever cherish these amazing memories and the countless people they've met during the show, PEOPLE reported.
Furthermore, Kim thanked the individuals and businesses that have been a part of the experience, mentioning a special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in the family, the E! network for being their partner, and their production team at Bunim/Murray, who have spent several hours documenting their lives.
She continued the message noting that the final season will air next year in 2021. Kim, 39, confessed that she wouldn't be where she is now without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, and expressed her gratitude to the viewers who watched and supported her and her family all these years.
"This show made us who we are," Kim wrote, adding that she will be forever in debt to those who helped in shaping their careers and changing their lives forever. "With Love and Gratitude, Kim," she concluded.
This announcement comes as Kim's husband Kanye West continues his surprising presidential bid for the 2020 election. They share four children together including sons Psalm, 1, Saint, 4, and daughters Chicago, 2, and North, 7.
