Sussex’ Shock: Archie Will Inherit Title Once Prince Charles Becomes King, Harry And Meghan Asking For An Appeal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their exit from the royal family last January 2020, with the couple wrapping up their royal engagement in the next months from their announcement and making it official in March. The reason behind their decision is not fully known, but people believe that the couple had a major issue with the media during their time in the royal family.
Now, it is clear that Harry and Meghan have decided to leave the royal institution to have more freedom and impact in the world. The couple has also expressed their concerns about raising their son, Archie, in a more normal way.
The couple who had their son last 2019, have expressed their joy, as well as their wishes to raise Archie as a normal citizen.
Harry and Meghan decided upon the birth of Archie that he was to take no titles, not until he can decide on his own, which path he chooses to follow.
But complications have risen, especially now that it is apparent that Prince Charles, father of Prince Harry will be crown King soon.
The rules will change for Archie as his grandfather rises to the throne and become the reigning sovereign.
According to royal experts, once Prince Charles becomes King, Archie, who has no titles, will have to carry one. The young tot will automatically have ‘HRH Prince’ as his title.
Archie will thus be known as ‘His Royal Highness Prince Archie of Sussex’.
Royal experts revealed that unless Charles writes a special letter that will help protect Archie from getting a title, then the young royal will have no choice but to keep the title.
Authors of ‘Finding Freedom’, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Duran revealed that, "A source said the couple was worried about the day Prince Charles becomes King and Harry's children could inherit the titles of Prince or Princesses. They shared their concerns with Charles, who said he would consider when he became King issuing a new letters patent, a legal instrument in the form of a written order issued by a reigning monarch, that would change this style.”
The changes are not too impossible to reach though, if Harry talks to his father about it, Archie will be saved from the HRH title.
Many of the archaic laws that apply to the British royals have been repealed in the past decade. Archie’s future will not be a big problem for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
