Donald Trump Accuses China Of Stoking Protest To Ensure Joe Biden Wins Election
Donald Trump on Monday suggested that China is interfering in the impending election in the United States, hoping to damage his reelection bid by encouraging race protests. Aside from that, he accused China of tweeting an article written by a columnist whose allegations do not coincide with the US intelligence community's assessment of Beijing's efforts thus far.
Trump's remarks, which are also echoed by his appointees, seek to create a theory that China is meddling to ensure Biden wins the election, while completely ignoring rock-solid reports that suggest Russia is helping Trump win again. Taking to his Twitter account, Trump re-shared a Breitbart article citing author and columnist Gordon Chang's remarks about the Chinese Communist Party trying to make life difficult for the president by supporting violent Black Lives Matter protests.
Citing little evidence they have about China's troll-farm activity, with its bots and with all of its other, Chang said it looks like they want former vice president Joe Biden to win. Keeping in line with that, China is trying to make life difficult for the president and fueling violent Black Lives Matter protests, adding that Beijing has decided to support the Democratic Party candidate.
While details about where Chang's information comes from are still scarce, but the Silicon Valley and the U.S. government have not released any public assessment about alleged covert Chinese troll farm activity that coincides with what he described. The only public comments from these groups about election interfering on social media revolve around a pro-Trump activity that is associated with the Kremlin.
Moreover, the article seems to defy what U.S. intelligence officials assigned the task of protecting the 2020 election from any sort of foreign interference have said publicly. Intelligence officials claim they have discovered evidence that suggests Russia is currently interfering in the election to damage Biden's presidential bid.
Aside from that, there is other evidence that hint at Moscow's attempt to influence the election, including last week's announcement on Facebook that it uncovered Russian meddling, CNN reported. The social media giant announced that a troll group was associated with Russia's attempt to influence the 2016 US presidential election, was trying to target Americans again.
Although the intelligence community has assessed that China and Iran want Trump to lose in the upcoming election, officials have not offered indication, confirming that either country is acting in that direction in the same way as Russia. This piece of information was revealed the intelligence community and insiders familiar with the evidence.
