Maisie Williams Reveals Her Version Of 'Game of Thrones' Finale
Maisie Williams is fangirling with other fans who are involved in the debate of Game of Thrones' final season. One thing all the fans agreed upon is Maisie Williams who portrayed Arya Stark’s character that had a grand moment on the show.
Many fans assumed along with Kit Harrington who portrayed Jon Snow's character that Night King might get killed by Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen's son. However, it was Williams who killed the Night King and made that moment epic for her fans.
Williams opened up in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the scene and spoke about Harington. The 23-year-old disclosed that Harington also thought that's how it is going to end, but she was informed by the team in the third season that she will take Night King down.
"He expected it to go that way, too. He even said, 'It was going to go that way. Someone told me in season three that I was going to kill the Night King.' And then, he read the script, and it was Arya the whole time," she revealed.
She laughed off and said that it would have become predictable if it was Jon Snow who'd kill the supreme leader of White Walkers. The actress revealed that she is glad that the creators didn't make the scene too obvious for the fans and let Arya's character do the job.
Although not all-stars from Games of Thrones seemed happy with the ending their characters received. In an interview with The Guardian of the UK in 2019, Lena Headey said she wanted to die in a better way. The 46-year-old actress portrayed Cersei Lannister on the drama series said that she dreamt of a better ending.
While Headey admitted that everyone on the show couldn't be pleased by the writers, she felt "gutted" due to the ending her character had. On the other hand, Sophie Turner said that she loved the way her character, Sansa Stark ended on the show as she ruled in Winterfell as Queen of the North.
In an interview with ET, Turner admitted that she is glad about the entire journey and how it came to an end. She explained that the character wanted to feel comfortable and safe at the end of the day after whatever she went through in the entire series. Winterfell was that perfect ending and she felt that Sansa's character is capable of being the leader.
