According to royal experts, Prince Charles may choose to go with another name when he is crowned as King. Prince Charles’ birth name is Charles Phillip Arthur George, and many experts believe that he may choose to go with George as his King's name.
If the Prince chooses to go with this as his regal name, he will be known as King George VII, it may also be an ode to his late grandfather.
This also leads to the talks of what Prince Charles’ wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker-Bowles' title will be. In normal circumstances she would be given the title ‘Queen Consort’ but due to the history of their marriage and Charles’ marriage to the late Princess Diana, Camilla upon Charles’ ascension will have the title of ‘Princess Consort’.
The Clarence House has released a statement regarding this issue, and according to them, they have not made a decision as of this time.
Author and Journalist Penny Junor told Town and Country that it is possible that Charles will keep his name as his regal name and be known as ‘King Charles III’.
