Kelly Clarkson Opens Up On Being 'American Idol' Winner
While many people in this world wait for this opportunity in life, Kelly Clarkson grabbed it 18 years ago. A 20-year-old girl from Texas auditioned for the first season of American Idol and gradually reached to the top.
Eventually, she became the first American Idol in 2002 and won many hearts across the country with her beautiful voice. Today, Clarkson has garnered multiple GRAMMY awards along with Daytime Emmy for numerous albums while she is also the showrunner of a talk show that turned out to be another successful vertical in her profession.
The 38-year-old multi-talented star took social media on Sept. 4 to take a moment and appreciate how her life has been changed because of the reality TV show. While she mentioned her life has revamped because of the show, she also addressed the fact that she is still hustling.
"I’m still hustlin 18 years later because I know I am blessed to have the opportunities and I still love my purpose," Clarkson wrote on her Instagram. She encouraged her fans and followers to find the purpose of their life and also seek the burning desire to achieve in life.
Last year, the Trolls World Tour star reunited all the judges from the first season of American Idol on her talk show including Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell. The judges praised the mother of two and thanked her for the contribution she made in order to make this reality TV a successful series.
Cowell said that he is genuinely grateful that Clarkson came on the show and without her, they might have not continued the show for so long. Clarkson's success encouraged more talents to signed up for the show and the show has finally reached 18 seasons.
However, the singer and songwriter clarified on the talk show that she wasn't aware of the fact that it is going to be a television series when she signed up for the audition. She admitted that she had no clue when she walked in for the audition until she saw Abdul and Cowell along with an English man.
When Clarkson became the first winner of the season in 2002, ET interviewed her at the moment and she said how disoriented it feels. At that time, she revealed that everyone kept asking her about how she is feeling but the fact is she had no clue how to react or feel at the amazing victory.
