SZA 'Hit Different' Featuring Ty Dolla $ign Is Out
Singer SZA has released her latest music track, Hit Different. The song is out along with the music video that features Ty Dolla $ign. Since several musicians have been reducing the timeline between the announcement and release of their music, SZA has seemed to be following the same path.
The 29-year-old singer announced that a new single is on the way three hours before its release. She took Twitter to share a screenshot from the music video and wrote Midnight EST. The picture showed an empty field and the singer standing right in between while posing beautifully.
However, the music was dropped on YouTube after 90 minutes. "All that I know is / Mirrors inside me / They recognize you / Please don't deny me," SZA sings in the music video. The track goes on for five minutes and twelve seconds, which is much longer compared to other music videos released during the pandemic.
SZA has dropped tracks such as The Other Side in February from Trolls World Tour that featured Justin Timberlake and All The Stars from Black Panther with Kendrick Lamar in 2018. Although fans have been anticipating the singer to release new music releases for a long time.
In fact, the singer has garnered four GRAMMY nominations in 2017 with her debut album, CTRL. The album was celebrated by the critics while she also received an award for Best New Artist nod.
While SZA didn't announce the latest music video, she has teased the new track a couple of times before. Moreover, the singer has shown annoyance on social media that her upcoming hotly awaited album was delayed.
However, the singer deleted her Aug. 19 tweet later that revealed her frustration on the upcoming album and said that at this point, fans need to ask questions to punch. She referred Terrence Punch Henderson who is the president of Top Dawg Entertainment boss label company.
Once she mentioned the label's name under which her latest video was supposed to release, fans were curious to learn her rapport with the company. A fan replied on the deleted tweet and asked if the company is "adverse or hostile", to which she replied “hostile”.
The next day, SZA took Twitter to clear the air about the rift between her and the label. She clarified that she is not a hostage nor her music. She explained further that being patient is important and she trusts people around her.
