Prince William and Prince Harry, at the ripe age of 15 and 12 were left motherless after their mother, who at that time was in Paris, France died after a freak car accident. According to reports, during that time, paparazzi were chasing the Princess’ car relentlessly, which cause the car to hit a barricade on an underground highway.

The accident was enraged by people as well as his two sons. In one interview, Prince Harry explained that her mother had a bad head injury but was still alive, stating that the paparazzi did not help her mother and continued to take photos of her dying.

The trauma both Prince William and Prince Harry still resonates today.

Today marks the 23rd death anniversary of Princess Diana and in an old interview with Prince William and Prince Harry for ‘Diana, Our Mother: Her Life And Legacy’, the two revealed their thoughts on their last phone call with their mom.

It was revealed by the Princes that during the last phone call of Diana to them, they were having their vacation in Balmoral and were in a hurry to get off of the phone.

The two immensely regretted their decision to have a short phone call with their mother, which became the last one they ever had with her.

“The very last memory that I have is a phone call [at] Balmoral. At the time Harry and I were running around minding our own business, playing with our cousins, and having a very good time. I think Harry and I were just in a desperate rush to say goodbye. You know, see you later and we’re going to go off”, Prince William shared during the interview.

Harry and William continued that they remember every detail of the conversation they had with their mother during that phone call. Although the two did not divulge as to what it was.

Princess Diana’s death was truly unfortunate but it has blessed both Harry and William as her royal fund was split between the two for their own charities that they are supporting.

Upon Harry’s leaving the royal family, his access to the funds was also cut off, but back in 2013, both brothers lost control over the fund due to the royal foundation taking over.

Both brothers have built their own charities, with Harry building ‘Archwell’ a foundation dedicated to his and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie. Both brothers have been threading different paths since building their own families.
