Richard Gere And Julia Roberts Heading On A ‘Pretty Woman’ Promotion Tour? Here’s The Truth!
There was a story published last year, which mentioned that Richard Gere and Julia Roberts were all set for a reunion tour to celebrate their iconic film Pretty Woman’s thirtieth anniversary.
The blockbuster movie was released three decades ago and was loved by viewers all over the world. Rumors mills had it that Gere and Roberts were romancing each other in real life and the spotlight has been on them for several years now.
However, a spokesperson of Gere said that the reunion story was fabricated, Gossip Cop reports. While there have been near-constant reports about the two stars dating each other, their sizzling chemistry was restricted to screens only.
Pretty Woman was a modern-day Cinderella tale with a lovely twist. It became one of the nineties’ most talked-about movies. The film also helped in boosting the characters of its principal stars – Roberts and Gere, who appeared in many other hit films over the years.
The firm clinched the third position in terms of the worldwide rankings at the box office in 1990. While the movie was made with a meager budget of just $14 million, it grossed more than $463 millon, Box Office Mojo reports.
An unofficial reunion took place nine years later when the director of the film Gary Marshall struck gold again by casting Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Runaway Bride. Even this time the two stars did not disappoint their fans and had the same onscreen chemistry.
While a special issue was dedicated by the People magazine to mark Pretty Woman’s 30th anniversary, it was the only celebration that took place. The film was made into a musical two years ago. A touring production of the show may begin in October this week though the outbreak of COVID-19 might postpone the event.
The same tabloid has earlier published a ridiculous story about Danny Moder and the actress having arguments about where they should reside. The magazine again came up with a similar story about the couple having irreconcilable differences in where they should settle down.
It seems the actress was all set to divorce her cinematographer husband because the latter was surfing the net too much.
However, the actress keeps posing endearing messages to her husband regularly on her IG page.
As such, all these divorce speculations appear to be ridiculous for a couple who are now married for about two decades. As far as Pretty Woman is concerned, no anniversary tour plan was planned last year and nothing happened.
Julia Roberts did not share any message about the film’s anniversary on any social media sites. So, a sketchy world tour of the actress with her former co-star Richard Gere was not in the cards.
