Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Kamala Harris And More Stars Honored Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick Boseman went too soon! That's what fans and celebrities have been pouring in their heartfelt messages on social media. While the actor died at the age of 43 due to colon cancer, ABC network collected tribute from his co-stars on their friendship and professional life.
The broadcaster Robin Roberts honored Boseman as she held a special show, 20/20 on Aug. 30. The show was titled as A Tribute for a King that was presented after the Black Panther movie was premiered without any advertisements.
The tribute included several stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Paul Rudd, Kamala Harris, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Forest Whitaker, Jeremy Renner, Winston Duke, Don Cheadle and so on. Cheadle who portrayed War Machine's character in Iron Man 2 initiated the tribute and said that he didn't spend much time with the actor.
"I didn't have enough time with Chadwick. I mean that's a statement I know everyone is making, and everyone can make because he was here far too short," the 55-year-old actor said. Johansson said in a video message that Boseman was an extremely gentle, thoughtful, kind, and present person.
The 35-year-old actress who portrayed Black Widow said that all the qualities of his real-life used to reflect in his portrayal of Black Panther. Angelina Jolie also paid a tribute by embracing him as a role model for new talents. She said that he gave everyone a great example of how to be a humble and gracious leader.
On the other hand, Winfrey spoke about the professionalism of Boseman. She acknowledged him being strong enough to handle the challenging time of his life with immense grace. Winfrey said the way Boseman managed to battle against cancer for four years and lived his life with dignity and humility proves that he was a superhero in real life.
He will always remain in everyone's hearts and fans and co-stars will cherish him for not only his on-screen work but also for his real personality. Harris who is the United States Senator also took Twitter to address the actor's death.
She recalled the tweet Boseman posted before his death and celebrated her Vice-presidential nomination. The 55-year-old nominee reminded Boseman's fans that he encouraged them to vote to keep the democracy alive. The actor was diagnosed with cancer back in 2016 with stage III colon cancer. The time of his death, the actor had reached stage IV.
