Christina Aguilera Reveals ‘Reflection’ Remake For Upcoming ‘Mulan’
Christina Aguilera revealed that the Reflection song is very special to her. The singer and songwriter have remade a fresh version of Mulan, which was originally created in 1998. The 39-year-old pop star described the new music video as completing "full circle".
In an interview with ET, the star revealed that it is incredible to have full circle after 20 years with the track that has a special place in her life. Aguilera said that the first Mulan and Reflection are the secret behind why she is at the top of her game.
"'Reflection is the song, and the first Mulan is the reason why I'm sitting here today. The new version takes on a more serious tone. So I wanted to bring more of that huge orchestration, and also sing it in a bigger way," Aguilera explained.
The latest music video of Reflection showcase scenes from the movie that premiered on Aug. 28. Aguilera could be seen in a dark room singing the song while donning a blue gown that looks extremely delicate. The overall video has a stunning landscape and powerful visuals with a serious tone of audio that gives goosebumps to the viewers.
The music track has been recorded in two versions, Spanish and English. Besides Reflection, the multi-talented star also wrote another motivational song, Loyal Brave True. Aguilera opened up in March regarding the upcoming movie and her involvement in the project.
At that time, she said that it feels amazing that her career has come full circle with this movie. She said that taking her children to experience the live-action film, feels rewarding. She noted that throughout her career being a fighter and a warrior has always been her way to deal with the odds.
According to Aguilera, it is nostalgic and amazing to bring back the light to the film that meant so much to her. The Emoji Movie star acknowledged the fact that Reflection helped to kick start her career. The singer recalled her first audition where she sang Reflection that led her first deal into the recording.
Aguilera noted that the song that helped her enter the music industry, has returned to her and reprised that's cute and amazing. She admitted that looking back at life through this song makes her realize how far she has reached professionally. Mulan will premiere on the online streaming platform, Disney+ on Sept. 4 and it can be availed for $29.99.
