Antonio Banderas Survives COVID-19
The number of people infected with the coronavirus continues to rise, but there are also those who manage to recover from the disease. Joining the ranks of coronavirus survivors is Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, who just a few weeks ago revealed his positive coronavirus diagnosis.
The Evening Express reports that Banderas shared the good news on his Twitter account on the evening of the 25th, saying that the 21 days of “disciplinary confinement” helped him overcome the disease.
Aside from announcing his recovery, Banderas also commiserated with those who succumbed to the virus as well as with those who did not have as easy of a time with it as he did. He also wished strength to those who are still fighting the coronavirus.
The Straits Times notes that Banderas did not reveal where he spent his quarantine since the actor has homes in both the United States and Europe. Banderas has residences in Spain, Surrey in England, and the United States. The actor had previously suffered a heart attack in his home in England.
Banderas first revealed his positive coronavirus diagnosis on his Instagram account, where he posted a picture of himself as a child that came with a caption in Spanish. The actor said he would be celebrating his 60th birthday dealing with the positive diagnosis.
After revealing his positive status, Banderas assured his fans that he was feeling well other than dealing with being more exhausted than usual. He said that he would take his time in confinement as an opportunity to read and write more and plan something meaningful for this birthday.
With his recovery from the coronavirus, Banderas joins a number of celebrities who have survived the deadly virus that has killed hundreds of thousands around the world. Some of those famous names include Bryan Cranston, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Just like Banderas, Cranston revealed his positive diagnosis and his recovery on Instagram. Cranston posted a video showing him donating plasma to the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center so researchers could use it in their search for a coronavirus vaccine.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, meanwhile, survived the virus in Australia. The A-list couple were quarantined there and experienced exhaustion and a loss of taste and smell while battling the virus. Once recovered, the couple also donated their plasma for coronavirus vaccine research.
Amitabh Bachchan was also recently released from hospital after being confined thereafter his positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Bachchan’s son Abhishek was also confined, as well as his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
