Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are two of the most important woman in the British Royal family. They are the mothers to future Kings and Queens and although the two women seemingly had a great relationship while Meghan was in the Royal family, there were times where they did not seem to see eye to eye.

In a bombshell revelation in the biography ‘Finding Freedom’, Meghan Markle was said to be extremely ‘disappointed’ with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Sussex felt like Kate was unsupportive of her during tough times. It was rumored that Meghan had difficulties with her staff during her pregnancy with her and Harry’s son, Archie. Kate Middleton who has had three children with Prince William was not there to help her through it. 

According to authors, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand of ‘Finding Freedom’, Meghan was left ‘hurt’ and ‘empty’. They claim that the two women had a good relationship with each other but it was just a surface-type of friendship.

The two women, before Meghan’s exit from the Royal family where seen going on Wimbledon matches together. They would be picture smiling and whispering to each other. 

But according to Scobie and Durand, all of this was nothing but superficial. Meghan Markle tried to reach out to Kate to try and create a deeper bond but the Duchess of Cambridge did not reciprocate.

“They were never at war and never the dueling duchesses. They were just two women who had this very surface-level friendship. They were able to connect and bond to trips to Wimbledon. But certainly, where more depth was required or perhaps a stronger shoulder of support from the Duchess of Cambridge’s side, we saw that didn’t happen, over and over again”, Mr. Scobie said.

Kate Middleton, who has been a senior royal far longer than Meghan did, has been always careful in her ways and is bound to a royal decree.

As for her not being there for Meghan when times were rough for the Duchess of Sussex, Mr. Scobie implies that Kate Middleton’s priorities might have been somewhere else during those times.

The relationship between the women has only drifted further apart as the relationship between the Royal brothers, Prince Harry and Prince William deteriorated over the decision of the Sussex’ to leave the Royal family.

Now, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are based in California, while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are continuing their duties in the UK.
