Royal Shock: Queen Elizabeth Will No Longer Reside In Buckingham Palace, Makes Windsor Castle Home Instead
The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II has been staying in their Balmoral Estate over the summer. As the pandemic continues to ravage the world, The Queen has been out of Buckingham Palace since it started and has been residing in the Windsor Castle instead. The Queen and her husband Prince Phillip have been weathering the pandemic in Windsor Castle.
Now, sources have claimed that the Queen will no longer go back to Buckingham Palace and instead make the Windsor Castle as the main royal home from now on.
The pandemic has changed everything for the royals, including their living situations. Earlier this year, Prince Charles, son of Queen Elizabeth was confirmed to have COVID 19. The Prince was put in quarantine and made a recovery.
The Queen’s stay in Balmoral normally is preceded by The Queen’s return to Buckingham Palace but due to the pandemic, The Queen and Prince Phillip are expected to go back to Windsor.
There are fears over The Queen not being able to resume her status and work due to the pandemic.
“There is a desire to get Buckingham Palace up and running again as a working palace, but only if all the relevant advice suggests that it is appropriate to do so,” said a source regarding the present living situation of The Queen and Prince Phillip.
Andre Morton, a royal biographer also commented on this issue saying that there is no possibility of The Queen resuming her work in today’s situation.
At 94 years of age, Queen Elizabeth is the longest-reigning monarch and is extremely vulnerable to the virus. To resume her work as a public figure, going to engagements and meeting people will put The Queen at risk.
Although, there are rumors that The Queen will attend commemorations at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in November, with measures being reviewed by the Queen’s team.
It is said that only The Queen’s close-knit household staff will be attending to her needs and that it is the best way to reduce any risk of the Queen being infected with the virus.
Due to the pandemic, The Queen has also lost millions of dollars as tourists who used to flock to see the Royals have gone down since the pandemic. It is reported that The Queen has lost almost $13 million.
As for the Royal trusts, money experts see a big loss for the royals. The loss is projected to be over $30 million.
