Prince William, Kate Middleton Honored Prince Charles After Prince Louis’ Birthday This Way
Prince William and Kate Middleton, reportedly, honored Prince Charles after Prince Louis’ birth.
It was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child will be named after his grandfather, Prince Charles. The young royal’s full name is Louis Arthur Charles.
According to Express, the grandfather and grandson tandem share a special connection with each other. In fact, on Prince Louis’ birthday, Clarence House shared an adorable photo of the future king carrying his grandson.
Prince Louis’ arm is wrapped around Prince Charles’ neck. And the heir to the throne also has a huge smile on his face.
According to Express, the name of babies born into British royalty typically bears a lot of history and significance. Louis is a name that’s associated with the French monarchy. However, it is more likely for Louis to have been inspired by Louis Mountbatten.
Prince Louis’ older brother, Prince George was given the full name George Alexander Louis. Louis also happens to be part of Prince William’s full name.
According to reports, Prince Charles wanted the name Arthur to be included in Prince William and Prince Harry’s full names. However, Princess Diana was opposed to this.
“Charles wanted to call his first son 'Arthur' and his second 'Albert', after Queen Victoria's consort. William and Harry were Diana's choices while her husband's preferences were used in their children's middle names,” a source revealed in the book Diana: Her True Story In Her Own Words.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton also made headlines this week after her alleged feud with Meghan Markle was revisited. According to the source, the Duchess of Sussex had unrealistic expectations about her relationship with her sister-in-law.
In the documentary Meghan & Harry: The New Revelations, royal expert Katie Nicholl said that the awkwardness between the sisters-in-law may have stemmed from Markle’s unrealistic expectations.
Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand also said that Middleton felt they didn’t have much in common other than the fact that they both lived at Kensington Palace.
“Meghan would agree with the assessment that the duchesses were not the best of friends. Their relationship hadn't progressed much since she was Harry's girlfriend,” they said.
But the others also stressed that Markle and Middleton never had a feud with each other. They simply never had the chance to be close to one another.
