Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce case has met another obstacle. It seems the actress’s legal counsel has now given a response to her former husband’s legal team’s objection to her demand to have a new judge overseeing their divorce case.

Samantha Bley DeJean, who is Angie’s attorney, has made a statement that her client is just asking for an unbiased trial in the court. The attorney added that Jolie does not want any kind of special benefit given to either party.

An insider, however, feels that it is just a stall strategy to request for a referee after the game has started. The source opines that it is clear that Jolie is worried about the case’s outcome.

For the universe, the 45-year-old actress had given a written request earlier this month to remove the existing Judge John W. Ouderkirk from their lawsuit. The Maleficent actress accused that the judge did not make timely compulsory disclosure of his professional and business associations with the Fight Club actor’s lawyers.

The actress also insisted that Ouderkirk did not intimate her legal counsel or her of some other divorce cases where he is overseeing with the actor’s attorneys thus making him impartial.

Meanwhile, Pitt’s lawyers made a counter-claim where they alleged Jolie to purposely delay the divorce proceeding ahead of their scheduled child custody trial in October. The actor’s legal team contended that the judge’s engagements with the concerned counsel were disclosed to the actress earlier.

Angelina Jolie’s recent court documents filed this week hit back at the claim made by the actor’s lawyers. They claimed that the judge had himself admitted to certain “errors” existing while disclosing his engagements concerning Brad Pitt’s lawyers.

These latest documents also mention that the Salt actress was unaware of the degree of relationship between Pitt’s lawyer and the judge until July when the latter divulged that he was working on several cases involving the actor’s attorney. That is the reason why she filed the request this month.

On the other hand, the Troy actor’s team had earlier argued that Jolie’s statements should have been filed in Jan. 2017 when the judge had shared a string of past lawsuits that involved the actor’s counsel.

Jolie’s latest documents also counter the claim made by her former husband’s legal team that removing their existing judge might “create confusion”, as well as, “invite gamesmanship” in their divorce proceedings, Entertainment Tonight reports.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been already declared legally single in April 2019. However, their divorce proceedings have recently faced a snag after the actress requested the removal of their existing private judge, Vanity Fair reports.
