Meghan Markle Urges Women To Vote, 'You Are Complacent, You're Complicit'
Lately, it’s been a rough time for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since their departure from the royal premises. The pair has given up a major source of their income, came to a new continent, and has been trying hard to keep their business and charity moving.
Super busy setting up their newly-bought home in Santa Barbara, California, the Sussexes don’t forget to do their bit for the society.
Last night, the Duchess graced the Michelle Obama’s election campaign focused on encouraging women to vote for their bright future.
The inclusive and development-oriented campaigns of the former First Lady need no introduction, she has been taking a stand and representing important agendas on behalf of women all across the globe.
In her latest appearance, Michelle Obama urged women to analyze the candidates from their specific standpoints and necessarily go and vote for the candidate they think is capable of bringing about the state of tranquility and prosperity for everyone.
This was an important event for a responsible woman like Markle to be a part of and she did so. Markle appeared as a guest alongside Michelle to encourage women to enjoy their rights to the fullest.
The former royal said, “We vote to honor those who came before us and to protect those that come after us…that's what community is all about and that's specifically what this election is all about.”
Her words must have made some sense to women because she really put up a very well example of an ideal community. The Duchess also underscored the stance that voting is more like a duty than a right for everybody, not just women.
Markle also indirectly implied that those who don’t vote are somewhere the cause of problems that everybody is forced to face. She further added that people who don’t help find solutions become part of the problem.
The catchphrase from her long speech could very well be – “If you are complacent, you are complicit,” which is so very relevant in modern society.
Back in the UK, Kate Middleton and Prince William are their social duties with best of efforts and miles away, here in the US – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are carrying on the royal tradition of making a positive change.
