Demi Lovato Devoted Her Special Day To Breonna Taylor
Demi Lovato turned 28! The singer and actress decided to dedicate her special day to seek justice. Yes, the Sonny with a Chance star posted on Twitter regarding the fight she initiated to ensure that Breonna Taylor gets justice.
The pop star encouraged her fans to join hands to stand for Breonna Taylor and posted an image that explained her action towards the meaningful cause. Breonna Taylor, an African American who was 26-year-old and working as a technician in the emergency medical department.
Taylor was murdered by a police officer in Louisville, Ky. The incident took place during the ongoing protest wave after George Floyd's death. Lovato wrote on her social media that she is extremely lucky to make her birthday useful for such an important cause.
The 28-year-old star didn't simply add a hashtag that would trend and come to an end. In fact, she added a link to her tweet that helped people to lead to various options that include sending an email, sign the petition, share the campaign, and make a donation.
The options mentioned above would help the supporters to send prewritten messages to the chief of police and Louisville mayor against the horrific incident. "Today is my 28th birthday... a birthday that Breonna Taylor will never have the opportunity to experience. No matter how big or small you think your impact maybe if we all stand together we can help bring justice for Breonna Taylor," Lovato said.
The incident took place on March 13 when cops entered Taylor's house and shot her. During the huge protest for George Floyd, Louisville officials decided to ban the no-knock warrants that provided cops the power to enter the houses of civilians without any warning or permission.
Taylor was in her bedroom with her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker when they heard cops banging the door. The cops had exchanged few words and soon Walker used his gun. The cops also shot in return and strike Taylor. As per the reports, three cops were involved in the murder named Myles Cosgrove, Brett Hankison, and Jonathan Mattingly.
While all the three officers are reassigned on administrative, none of them have been charged criminally. Hankison got fired from his position though he had appealed against the firing. During the investigation, Walker revealed that there was no medical support for about 20 minutes and Taylor passed away coughing and struggling to breathe.
