Billie Eilish's Issues Plea To Voters: 'Trump Is Destroying Our Country'
Donald Trump and celebrities don’t quite go hand in hand and there is no doubt about it. It’s a kind of trend where popular musicians and actors take a jab at the President for a variety of informative and personal purposes. This time, it’s the Grammy award-winning singer Billie Eilish who has decided to alert Americans against President Trump.
On the third night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention – prior to her performance, Eilish delivered her furious remarks about Donald Trump. Eilish has publicly criticized Trump throughout his course of the presidency, but this time it must have hurt the President worst.
The singer touched upon burning issues relating to the country such as COVID-19 and climate change. She openly told viewers not to vote for Trump and go for Dems’ nominee Joe Biden.
The 18-year-old said it’s evident for citizens to know that “things are a mess” – Trump is doing exactly opposite to what a President is supposed to, he is “destroying” the country and everything.
Eilish dug a little deeper to define the qualities that a leader must possess that Trump is lacking, she said - America needs a leader who can effectively tackle challenges and issues that the country is facing right now instead of denying them – “Leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality.”
Besides talking about leadership, the Grammy winner also called on the voters to do their bit for the country i.e. vote to choose the right leader – “someone who understands how much is at stake, someone who is building a team that shares our values.”
Lately, Mr. President is, seemingly, being targeted more than ever before. Urging people to vote for Biden, Trump’s 2016 presidential opponent Hillary Clinton said that he is not a president and what the US needs right now is a president. Former US president Barack Obama also hit out at Trump, in a recorded message, he said that he never expected his successor to continue his kind of job, but what he did expect was that Trump would “take his job seriously.”
At this time, Donald Trump needs a tremendous amount of support and he is not getting any. Both Trump and Biden have been giving citizens the dreams of a better America. Biden is seen taking lead but the good news for Trump is that - Americans are not still in the thinking process where they seem to be comparing Biden and Trump – so Trump may still have some hopes.
