Britney Spears' Father Continues As Conservatorship Following Her Request To Remove Him
Britney Spears conservatorship has been making headlines. The pop singer had requested the court to drop her father Jamie out of the role of conservatorship. However, it seems that things didn't turn well in the singer's favor.
The latest hearing held on Aug. 19, the role of Jamie remained the same in the conservatorship. As per the latest documents, the scheduled conference of the hearing held in which Judge Brenda Penny allowed the transcripts and sealing the conservatorship case of Spears.
As the obtained documents revealed that the conservatorship temporary letters' date has been pushed forward till Feb. 1, 2021. Samuel Ingham, attorney of Spears has one month for filing the petition. While there are major changes and requests happening in the court, outside the official space fans are also protesting for the #FreeBritney movement.
Recently, fans in Los Angeles reached Stanley Mosk Courthouse to protest for the 38-year-old singer while the hearing was ongoing. Elizabeth Dinon spoke with ET regarding the #FreeBritney movement and revealed that Jason Alexander, Spears' ex-husband also attended the protest.
The supporter of the movement further revealed that Alexander arrived around 11:30 A.M. with positive vibes. Alexander told Dinon that he attended the movement because he believes in his ex-wife and supports the movement.
Dinon said that he was extremely glad to be a part of this protest, he thanked everyone for attending while he was very friendly. The documents received earlier had the attorney of Spears reveal that the star wants her father to stop being a conservator.
Jodi Montgomery has been taking care of the singer for a long time. However, her appointment is going to expire in the next few days because of which new request was sent to the court. Back in September 2019, Jamie filed a petition for stepping down from the conservator's position because of health issues.
"[Jamie] previously served as the sole conservator of her person since 2008. Britney is strongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as a conservator of her person. Rather, she strongly prefers to have Ms. Montgomery continue in that role as she has done for nearly a year," stated in the documents.
Spears insisted that Montgomery should be appointed as a permanent conservator of the singer. Currently, Spears wants the 68-year-old father to stay away from her financial matters and opposed Jamie's proposal of sole conservator strongly. Jamie had turned down all the conspiracy theories around him spending her money and said that he had reported everything to the court.
