Hillary Clinton Urges Democratic Voters To Prevent Donald Trump From Stealing His Way To Victory
Hillary Clinton is the latest entrant in the list of influential people who are urging Americans to ensure Donald Trump doesn't get reelected in Nov. The former U.S. Secretary of State is calling on Democratic voters to appear in overwhelming numbers for the impending election, noting that such a level of effort is required to make sure the president does not "sneak or steal his way to victory."
Making an appearance in the Democratic national convention from her residence in Chappaquiddick, New York on Wednesday, Clinton said she had interacted with several Americans who either regret noting voting in the last general election, or wish they had voted differently. For four years, she said, people have been telling her that they didn't realize how dangerous Trump was, adding that they wish they could go back and do it over.
Noting that some of the people she spoke with said they wished they voted, Clinton said it is important for them to make sure this is not another "woulda-coulda-shoulda election." She urged the people to vote like their lives and livelihood are on the line, insisting that they are, The Guardian reported.
Clinton was the first woman nominated for president by a major party, and she became the fifth presidential candidate to lose the US election but won the popular vote. In her recently concluded address, Clinton endorsed Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris.
Giving her example, Clinton reminded Americans that Joe and Kamala can win by 3 million votes and still lose. She went on to explain that ensuring Biden and Harris' victory requires them to turn up in overwhelming numbers.
After a video celebrating women's suffrage, Clinton, donning suffragette white, said Trump took office with ample set up for him, including a pandemic response team. She attributed his failure as a president to his inability to put his ego and own interests aside.
Furthermore, Clinton said America needs a president at the time, adding that she wished Trump knew how to be one. Shortly after Wednesday’s proceedings began, a fundraising email in Trump's name comprising a series of insults. It accused the event of being corrupt and tagged each speaker including former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Kamala Harris with insulting adjectives.
The list comprised Trump's favorite nicknames from 2016, such as "Crooked" Hillary Clinton and a racist tag for Senator Elizabeth Warren. The message indicated that the Radical Democrats hated the president and hated American people, adding that they just want to see American people fail.
