Victoria Beckham is, allegedly, conflicted about inviting Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton to her son, Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding.

According to Closer UK, Beckham is friends with the sisters-in-law. However, Markle and Middleton aren’t necessarily besties. As such, the Spice Girls member is trying to avoid any awkwardness on her son’s special day.

A source told the tabloid that since the Beckhams were invited to Markle and Middleton’s respective weddings, she would want to return the favor. However, there are, allegedly, downsides to inviting the royals.

“Posh feels incredibly torn between Kate and Meghan and is panicking about the prospect of them being the center of attention instead of Nicola and Brooklyn. She dreads being dragged into a new crisis. This is a huge celebration and she doesn’t want any tension or bad atmosphere between high-profile guests spoiling it,” the source said.

The source also said that even though Posh Spice is close to Markle, she is closer to Middleton. After all, the Beckhams have known the Cambridges for over a decade. And their relationship is, reportedly, very normal.

Meanwhile, royal author Katie Nicholl said that there is also a possibility for Beckham to invite both Markle and Middleton to Brooklyn’s wedding.

“The Beckhams were lucky enough to be invited to both royal weddings, which is quite a rarity, and they will of course be returning the favor. Victoria will not want to alienate the future queen, but she and Meghan have really hit it off,” the source said.

Nicholl also said that there will most likely be a royal family meeting before the wedding. And Markle and Middleton would be the ones to decide if they want to attend an event together.

“I would imagine it’s going to be a big enough wedding that they’re not going to be in terrible intimate situations with each other anyway,” the source said.

Closer isn’t the only tabloid that’s been speculating on Brooklyn’s wedding guests. Last week, Heat claimed that Beckham has been smothering her eldest son by planning his wedding all by himself.

The singer and fashion designer also, reportedly, has a close relationship with her future daughter-in-law.

“Victoria and Nicola have been spending a lot of time together on holiday chatting, working out, and going on shopping trips. Harper’s still too young to do a lot of things, so Vic loves having another girl around. But she’s been getting a little carried away with the wedding planning she’s been rushing down to breakfast every morning telling Nicola and Brooklyn all about her new ideas,” a source said.
