Queen Elizabeth Allegedly Abdicating From The Throne On Her 95th Birthday For Prince Charles
Queen Elizabeth is rumored to be abdicating from the throne very soon.
According to Woman UK, there has been so much talk surrounding the future of the monarchy and what will happen after the queen dies.
However, there also claims that the monarch could abdicate while she’s still alive and well in favor of Prince Charles. The heir to the throne has been waiting for his future role for decades
While speaking with the publication, royal expert Ingrid Seward said that she doesn’t think that the queen will abdicate at 95 or any age for that matter. After all, the royal family needs her now more than ever.
“The royal family needs her more than ever as she is a constant in most people’s lives, and to lose her would be very unsettling. The queen won’t step down, as she took the religious oath at her coronation that as an anointed queen, she would do her duty as long as she was fit and able to do so. And she is,” she said.
When the time comes that the queen passes away, Seward said that Prince Charles will take over. Unfortunately, the dad of two isn’t as long as his mother.
But following the coronavirus pandemic, the public’s perception towards Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles changed.
“The public doesn’t share the same love for Prince Charles as they do for his mother, but in the last few months, he has gained popularity by appearing more involved – and so has Camilla. I think Her Majesty also feels the future of the monarchy is in safe hands now with William and Kate,” she said.
Meanwhile, Seward also said that the recent pandemic has done wonders for the queen. After all, this is the first time since 1952 that she was able to take some time for herself without worrying about her schedule.
“I don’t think the queen knows how to take it easy, but the break must have done her god. For the first time in her life since she became queen in 1952, she has been able to do the things she enjoys without an appointment diary hovering over her,” she said.
Following the coronavirus lockdown, the queen and Prince Philip were forced to quarantine at Windsor Castle. Months later, the royal couple moved to Balmoral.
