Michelle Obama's Brother Reveals His First Thoughts About Barack Obama
The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama has featured in the headlines so much that the people all across the globe naturally feel they know all about him. However, oftentimes it’s interesting to know about your favorite leader from the standpoint of his close ones. This time, it’s Mr. Obama’s brother-in-law who has shared his first memory of the former president on sister Michelle Obama’s podcast.
In the upcoming episode of The Michelle Obama Podcast, her elder brother Craig Robinson rolled back to the moment he met Barack for the first time. That happened when Michelle introduced her then-boyfriend Barack to her family for the first time.
Recounting the moment, Robinson said addressing Michelle that she drove up in her black Saab and Barack came out of the passenger’s side. Robinson remembered exactly what his mom said after taking a good look of Barack, ‘“Oooh he's tall, he's kinda good lookin.’”
Michelle revealed that she asked Robinson to play basketball with her boyfriend only to understand his character and personality well. What Robinson could make out from his game with Barack was that her sister had chosen an authentic man. According to Robinson, Barack wasn’t at all bragging about how much of basketball he had played and won, instead he remained a bit modest and said, ‘I play a little bit,’ which gave Robinson a signal of sheer authenticity in him.
After the death of her father Fraser Robinson, Michelle would often turn to her brother for support in a crucial situation. The siblings shared the moment when Barack was running for office.
While Michelle was a little fearful about her husband getting into politics, Robinson was the one to introduce her to the real potential of Barack as a human being and as a leader. The moment Michelle told Robinson that she wanted Barack to be like her father, Robinson said some wise words. Robinson told his sister that Barack was a "special guy" who couldn’t be pressurized into doing something he didn't want to do.
He also warned his sister that this way she wouldn’t be married to him.
Robinson also let the world into his most important conversation with the former President that took place during the Thanksgiving celebration at his house. When Barack’s future plans didn’t seem so strong, Robinson asked him about his future prospects. To Robinson’s surprise, Barack said that he would want to be the President of America which Robinson, back then, labeled as a part of Barack's funny talk.
