Ellen DeGeneres apologized on Aug. 17 to her staff regarding the ongoing allegations and investigation. On Monday, production of The Ellen DeGeneres Show began and everyone working on the show was called for a meeting.

DeGeneres joined the meeting through a virtual call during the conference and surprised the staff members. A close source revealed that DeGeneres seemed to be extremely raw, honest, unscripted, and very real. In fact, whatever she said during the meeting was "heartfelt".

The 62-year-old opened up how she felt about the show before. She said that it seemed like an oiled mechanism that worked really great. However, the host and comedian of the show admitted that now she realized that everything didn't go well as she assumed.

DeGeneres admitted the fact that the show is not a mechanism that will work routinely and people working here are humans and not machines. The comedian said how shattered she felt after learning stories and allegations surrounding her.

She addressed the allegations regarding staff members are not allowed to look or talk to her. DeGeneres admitted feeling devastated to know that people think about her in that way. However, the three producers of the show: Co-executive producer Jonathan Norman, executive producers Kevin Leman, and Ed Glavin has been terminated from their position.

Michael Plonsker, attorney of Leman confirmed through a statement about the termination. "The fact that a deeply flawed BuzzFeed article has led to the termination of an innocent man – a popular figure and a creative force behind the Ellen show and a string of other projects produced with Ellen – is shocking," documents read.

Although DeGeneres said during the recent meeting that she is not the person that people think she is. In fact, she apologized sincerely and said if by mistake she hurt anyone or didn't give the attention they deserve then she is regretful.

DeGeneres further encourage her staff members to look at her and talk to her. As per the source present in the meeting disclosed that DeGeneres' words sounded hopeful to the staff. The source continued that the staff seemed to be optimistic and hopeful following the meeting. She added words in the meeting such as it felt like a nice page turn.

As per ET, Andy Lassner who worked as an executive producer on the show opened up with the staff members regarding the allegations about systemic racism. Lassner pointed out that after speaking with 100 employees, current and former there is no proof that there is any racism.
