All moviegoers ask for is a good movie featuring their favorite actors who are funny, have action potential, and can bring immense drama onto the screen. For many, the upcoming Planes, Trains & Automobiles remake may be the right bet - as from the first movie, fans can be sure of the story strength and not to mention, it stars Will Smith and Kevin Hart in the lead role which is undoubtedly a pretty active combination.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles made its way to cinema in the year 1987, a road-buddy comedy film directed by John Hughes with Steve Martin and John Candy in the lead roles as two opposite-going buddies. The film catalogs the misadventures of friends trying to get home to enjoy the festivities of Thanksgiving with family.

The remake will be the rerun of similar events in a modern setting where instead of Martin and Candy, Smith and Hart will be forced to pair up to complete the journey and make it to home -squabbling through obstacles.

The film will be developed in collaboration between Hart’s HartBeat Productions and Smith’s Westbrook Studios. Hart and Smith will co-produce alongside HartBeat’s president of film and television Bryan Smiley and Westbrook’s co-president and head of motion pictures Jon Mone.

Aeysha Carr, best known for Brooklyn 99, will be the in-charge of the screenplay. Hulu’s upcoming series Woke has also been graced by Carr’s participation as the executive producer.

The actors have been pretty packed, of late. Hart was last seen in Jumanji: The Next Level, alongside his best chum Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Following the success of Jumanji, the actor has just wrapped up the production of drama Fatherhood which is set to be rolled out from the house of Sony in April 2021.

Pretty much like Hart, Smith’s latest film to be released is action/comedy Bad Boys For Life. He had barely got a break when he started again with the production of King Richard, in which the actor plays the father of Tennis legends Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

However there is no news regarding the dates of production or release, the jam-packed schedule of the actors, in all likelihood, may push the production of the movie towards 2022. Fans will have to wait for at least a year or two to see what Smith and Hart do with Planes, Trains & Automobiles remake.
