Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres may be battling allegations of rude behavior and fostering a toxic workplace atmosphere at her eponymous talk show, but she at least has celebrity friends who continue to show her support. Just recently, DeGeneres was seen having lunch with one of her supporters, actor Kevin Hart.

E! Online reports that the 62-year-old host was seen drinking wine and eating lunch with the 41-year-old actor at the Rosewood Miramar Beach over the weekend. Both celebrities were dressed casually, with DeGeneres in khaki pants and a blue patterned shirt and Hart in matching baby-blue printed shirt and shorts.

As pointed out by E! Online, the lunch comes two weeks after Hart publicly defended DeGeneres from the allegations of toxicity that has hounded her after the publication of a Buzzfeed report. Hart called DeGeneres one of the “dopest” people he has met and said he has only been treated with love and respect by the host.

Hart isn’t the only celebrity to come to DeGeneres’ defense. Among the host’s celebrity defenders are talent manager Scooter Braun, actress Diane Keaton, singer Katy Perry, athlete Nacho Figueras, and actor Jerry O’ Connell.

Braun insists that he has “first-hand” experience of DeGeneres providing aid to people in need as well as being kind, thoughtful, and courageous. Perry, on the other hand, said she has only had positive takeaways from all her encounters with DeGeneres.

Diane Keaton insists that the audience at The Ellen DeGeneres Show has only ever exuded gratitude and happiness. Meanwhile, Figueras and O’ Connell have affirmed that they will stand by DeGeneres.

Portia de Rossi, the wife of DeGeneres, has also publicly shown her support with an Instagram post that also expressed her and DeGeneres’ gratitude to all the fans and supporters who continue to stand by them despite everything that has happened.

As pointed out by US Weekly, Hart’s support of DeGeneres is understandable as the talk show host was one of the more prominent LGBTQ celebrities to stand by Hart after he was called out for previous homophobic tweets. DeGeneres not only welcomed Hart on her show as a guest but also asked him to reconsider hosting the Academy Awards after he stepped down because of the controversy.

Aside from celebrity defenders, the past few weeks have also seen celebrity detractors surface and claim that the allegations against DeGeneres and her show are true. Everybody loves Raymond star Brad Garrett says the toxicity in the show comes from DeGeneres herself, while Back to the Future star Lea Thompson says she has heard similar tales of toxicity about DeGeneres.
