Kate Middleton, Prince William Will Allegedly Supersede Prince Charles To Take The Throne
There has been so much speculation regarding the future of the British monarchy after Queen Elizabeth dies.
According to Us Weekly, Prince William and Kate Middleton are on the fast track to succeed the monarch. This means that the Cambridges could bypass Prince Charles.
A source said that when the queen abdicates, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will supersede Prince Charles. And the queen will, allegedly, give them her blessing to do so.
Throughout the past couple of years, the queen has, allegedly, been preparing the royal couple for their future roles.
“They’re aware that this may be asked of them, and they’re ready to rule,” the source said.
According to the insider, Prince Charles will have no issue if he won’t take the throne because he will just follow his mother’s orders. However, this is unlikely to be the case, Prince Charles has been waiting for the day when he would become king and it’s unlikely that he won’t fight for his right.
Still, there is no denying the fact that Prince William and Middleton have been pivotal members of the royal family.
“William and Kate’s main goal is to become more relatable to the public. They won’t abolish traditions, though some will become more relaxed, like the dress code and rules on showing affection in public. And they’ll continue to advocate for mental health, which in previous generations was a rarely discussed topic,” the source said.
The queen, who is already 94 years old, is already relegating some of her duties to Prince William and Middleton. The source said that Prince Charles is also included, but the Cambridges have been given more responsibilities than the dad of two.
“Kate and William are in their prime, loved by the public and doing an outstanding job at handling their additional responsibilities,” the source said.
However, it is unlikely for the queen to pass on the throne to Prince William and Middleton and bypass Prince Charles. After all, the monarch doesn’t have any right to do so.
The order of succession also dictates that Prince Charles is the rightful heir because he is the eldest child of the queen. And the only way for Prince William to become king is if his dad dies or abdicates.
