Almost all of the cinemas and theaters in Hollywood are operating in a reduced workforce. Some of them temporarily closed due to the incapability of running their operations in a less dense atmosphere. The discord felt by the studio and cinema firms is just one impact of the coronavirus, forcing everyone to stay home.

However, above all the protocols established by the U.S. government in preventing the spread of the deadly virus, Sony Pictures propositions to hold the socially distant drive in premiers and screenings of hit movies 'The Karate Kid' and 'Ghostbusters' on its studio parking lot in Culver City, California.

As per Hollywood Reporter, the temporary substitute drive-in theater will be established in the Thalberg parking lot located on the historic studio lot and will kick off the distinguished titles on August 14. Aside from those mentioned above, the romantic comedy film of Tristan Pictures and Stage 6 Films entitled 'The Broken Hearts Gallery' is also in the roster of movies set out in the makeshift drive-in theater. The comedic film hails American singer now turned makeup mogul Selena Gomez.

Sony purchased 'The Broken Hearts Gallery' for not more than $10 million after the COVID-19 global pandemic sprung in the U.S. A distinct cinematic release is also on the works.

In a Deadline report, moviegoers can exclusively purchase tickets from Atom Tickets retailer. One movie ticket costs $30 per vehicle, and roughly 75 cars are allowed for admission. The studio theater will hold screening every Friday to Sundays and is strictly governed by the mandates of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the City of Culver City. The moviegoers should always wear their respective face masks and observe the proper social distancing measure. All of these are in light of the government's protocols in preventing the spread of the COVID-19.

Other Sony Pictures movies to grace the outdoor theater on the studio included 'Jumanji: The Next Level,' 'Baby Driver,' 'Bloodshot,' 'Don't Breathe,' and 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.'

The makeshift theater's official automotive sponsor in North America's Porsche Cars, showcasing the company's newest product offers to the moviegoers. Bottling up their sponsorship is the newly made all-electric sports car named Tycan, the first of its kind and the brand-new Cayenne Coupe.
