The music video, WAP was studded with various stars and it marked her collaboration with another rapper, Megan Thee Stallion. The single dropped on Aug. 5. The star revealed the huge budget in an interview with i-D.
“It was kind of weird shooting the video in the age of corona. We had to spend $100,000 dollars just on testing. Everybody on the shoot had to get tested for coronavirus. Everything has completely changed because of the pandemic. I’m mostly at home with my baby,” the musician said.
Cardi B disclosed that everything she had planned for 2020 has been pushed forward. She called the entire thing "crazy" as she had no clue when her plans will get rescheduled in the future. The singer opened up about the controversy caused by her latest video that included wild animals such as tiger and snake.
Cardi B admitted that there were a leopard and tiger on the set, however, the rappers didn't shoot scenes with them due to pandemic and safety precautions. She admitted that all the scenes that had wild tigers in the video were merged clips together.
Big-cat rights activist, Carole Baskin who featured on Netflix's Tiger King slammed the rapper for encouraging rich people to have wild animals such as tigers to be their pet. The 59-year-old activist explained that these celebrities have a huge fan following and they can influence people to imitate their act.
The Florida based said that making them pets never help the big cats, instead, they either end up in sanctuaries or die. Baskin disclosed that when these big cats don't serve the purpose then they are usually left in the wild or given to the communities that never work in their favor.
This act is dangerous not only for wild animals but also for the common people. However, Cardi B refused to engaged with Baskin and took a dig at her husband who was missing since 1997 and announced dead officially in 2002.
