Meghan Markle, Prince Harry ‘Rude’ For Giving Their Dog Name That Translates To Private Part
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rescued dog’s name has just been revealed.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s dog is called Pula. The name was inspired by the currency of Botswana, where Prince Harry and Markle reportedly fell in love.
But according to New Idea, the Sussexes have been accused of being rude because Pula has another meaning. The term reportedly refers to a Russian slang for a man’s private part.
Others also revealed that Pula means rain in Setswana, which is a language spoken in South Africa.
“Pula is the official currency of Botswana, the country in Africa where Harry took Meghan when they first started dating. Pula means 'rain' in Setswana—and since rain is very scarce in Botswana, it’s considered valuable and a blessing,” a source told People.
Meanwhile, Markle was recently involved in a controversy pertaining to her other rescue dog, Bogart. According to reports, Bogart is still with Markle’s friend in Canada.
After she returned to the United States, Markle allegedly decided to not take Bogart away from her friend because the dog doesn’t like Prince Harry.
But according to Globe, Markle lied about the real reason why she refused to bring Bogart home. The tabloid claimed that the Suits alum simply abandoned her dog.
Markle’s staff allegedly found the Duchess of Sussexes’ explanation to be absurd. And no one believed her for saying that Bogart disliked her husband. After all, Prince Harry is also good with dogs.
However, it is also possible that not all dog breeds like the Duke of Sussex. In 2017, he told BBC that Queen Elizabeth’s corgis didn’t immediately warm up to him. But they warmed up to Markle the first time that they met her.
Markle was already slammed by her critics on social media for abandoning Bogart three years ago. One of them said that Markle separated Bogart from her other rescue dog, Guy.
“No doubt Guy will spend more time with whoever she hires to babysit him in England but won't ever see his friend again. Personally, I wouldn't even allow her to adopt a pet rock,” the royal fan said.
“Leaving one behind – I would love to know the reason. It is disgusting in my eyes – poor pup lost his mom and best friend,” another person said.
