Kristin Cavallari surprised her huge fan base earlier this month by posting a picture of her and former boyfriend Stephen Colletti to her Instagram account. Aside from taking her fans by surprise, this move also sparked speculations about the status of their current relationship.

While Cavallari, as well as her former Laguna Beach castmate, has refrained from writing a comment on the picture, and fans continue to speculate, Cavallari’s former The Hills castmate Audrina Patridge shared her thoughts about their relationship. The 35-year-old television presenter seems to defend what looks like a possible romance between them.

Touted as one of the most popular shows of the 2000s, Laguna Beach centered around high school students in the upscale town of Laguna Beach in California as they go through the highs and lows of growing up. The show's season 1 and 2 focused around Cavallari and Colletti, and when the show first aired in 2004, they were already dating for a year.

Their romance turned out to be the center of several plot lines on the series. Things became more complicated for the couple when Lauren Conrad made his appearance, forming a love triangle. Cavallari and Colletti were in an on-and-off relationship at the time.

Colletti went to San Francisco for college, putting a strain on their relationship, and eventually led to a breakup during the second season. They both have moved on from their earlier days together, and Cavallari went on to marry former football player Jay Cutler in 2013.

She welcomed three children, Camden, Jaxon, and Sayler together. Cavallari and Cutler’s ended up in a divorce in April this year. Cavallari revealed their plan to get a divorce via an Instagram post. "We have nothing but love and respect for one another," she wrote.

Cavallari and Colletti are both single now, and many fans are hoping that they get back together. Joining in the fans, Audrina Patridge told Life & Style that she would love to see them get back together, adding that they would make an amazing couple.

“They used to be in love,” she recalls. Having gone through a divorce on her own a few years ago, Patridge said having Colletti to support Cavallari through her split with Cutler could prove to be a good thing.

Referencing to her divorce, Patridge said it feels nice talking to someone that you know cares about you. She gave an example of her talking to ex-boyfriend Ryan Cabrera, and how they started hanging out.
