Cardi B's New Album Has 'Lemonade' Moments, Talks About Her Ex-Husband Offset
Fresh from her “WAP” release, the mother-of-one Cardi B is Elle magazine’s September 2020 cover star, where she opened up about her nearing album launch. However, aside from her album, the female rapper also talked about his former husband Offset. She said, “I don’t really like talking about love much, but I feel like I have to do it.”
Two years have passed since the 27-year-old rapper debuted her “Invasion of Privacy” album, and since then, Cardi B rose fame in the American music scene. But one significant event that Cardi B went through is her saddening split with her husband and fellow rapper Offset, 28, after she found out he is cheating.
Despite Cardi B’s empowering tracks in the past, being “WAP” is the latest, the rapper blurted out to Elle magazine that her forthcoming album picks up records that shows her inner Queen B (Beyoncé).
The American rapper said that her album would surely tell the story of her relationship with Offset, describing her “Lemonade” moments. However, the collection is quite different from her first, saying this time, it will be more empowering like a woman should be, Hollywood Life reported.
As per Complex, Cardi B is talking about Beyoncé’s 2016 album that tells her husband Jay-Z’s infidelity.
Cardi B also said that she doesn’t like too many dramas on relationships because she only wants genuine love, a lot of passion and trust, and, most notably, a friendship. She wishes for everyone not to make up rumors about her relationship because she sees them as a pathway to a heartache. Also, she said that if anyone wants to know more about her relationship life, she will put it on her upcoming music.
The new album of Cardi B will feature Offset in one of the tracks. Previously, Offset addresses his relationship with his ex-wife on the song called “Don’t Lose Me,” where she sings for an apology for breaking Cardi’s heart and breaking his promise.
Offset, and Cardi B’s relationship is somehow like a rollercoaster. On their initial meetup at a part in 2016, the dup immediately collaborated for “Lick” in 2017. In February of the same year, they confirmed their relationship that led to two rappers in a secret wedding ceremony in September. In 2018, the hip-hop fans were saddened by the couple’s split with Cardi B, saying Offset is a cheater. Come 2019, the ex-lovers reconciled and were never spotted together again.
