The royal biography Finding Freedom, released today, has pulled blinds on a number of unknown bits of royals, especially the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex. One of the loveliest sections of the book features the details of the nature of Markle’s relationship with her father-in-law, the heir apparent Prince Charles.

The Sussexes’ rift has come a long way, but Prince Charles has entirely been out of it. However, eventually, we may now have the answer as to why it has been so, thanks to the release of the royal biography.

As stated in Finding Freedom, Meghan Markle had a close lovely relationship with Prince Charles.

One of Markle’s close friends revealed that the Duchess ‘found such a supportive and loving father in Charles’ and that really made her royal experience a lot better. According to Markle's friend, Markle has always seen the Prince of Wales as her ‘second father.’

And she has, in fact, got all the reason to feel that way – Prince Charles walked Markle down the aisle in her wedding ceremony as a father and he also gave her strong emotional support when her relationship with her father got worse.

The feelings were mutual, a friend of Prince Charles suggested that the Duke has a good deal of respect for ‘very strong and confident women.’ And since Markle is a confident American woman, it should come as a surprise to anyone why their ‘friendship’ is so adorable.

Not only Prince Charles, but his wife Camilla has also shared great moments with Markle. According to biographers Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie, Charles and Camilla would often be around Markle to offer her their support, sympathy, and love.

Prior to Markle’s wedding with Harry - the pair even went on a weekend vacation trip at the Castle of Mey with Prince Charles and Camilla to know one another a little better.

Although the Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with her father might be strained, her father-in-law has done everything possible to keep her from missing the affection of her father.

The book has also shed light on Prince Charles’ take on the Sussexes’ decision to move out – the Duke of Wales is supportive of Sussexes’ new life and he is glad that his youngest son is married to a girl like Meghan Markle. The situations are troublesome between the royal family and the Sussexes at this point in time, but the reunion of Markle and Prince Charles may be expected soon.
