If SpongeBob is the base of the show, then Patrick is the pillar. This is the exact principle on which the SpongeBob Squarepants has been running for more than 2 decades. SpongeBob’s best friend Patrick has a great knack of getting laughter out of even the most serious people.

Probably, this fact is the reason that a new SpongeBob Squarepants spinoff will be entirely dedicated to Patrick and it has been titled accordingly – The Patrick Star Show.

According to the reports, the first season of the show will feature only 13 episodes. And the prime concept of the show would be in line with that of a late-night show’s.  Deadline reports that the beloved pink starfish will host his own late-night talk show with a major focus on the character and his family.

One more time, the character will be voiced by Bill Fagerbakke. Bill has also voiced SpongeBob for a long time and fans might know very well how good he is at this job.

Enough information is not available regarding the production but the series is expected to bring about a set of fresh characters who will be voiced by new actors. However, a few characters and actors may continue to appear in the series as a part of Patrick’s underwater world.

Following the announcement of SpongeBob’s prequel Kamp Koral earlier this year, The Patrick Star Show marks the second spinoff project greenlit by the creators to make its way to Nickelodeon. The two spinoffs are totally unrelated in concept and obviously a few characters will be the same.

Kamp Koral will introduce viewers to 10-year old SpongeBob and his pals taking up adventuresome activities during their summertime in Kelp forest – the group, at a sleep-away camp, will build campfires, catch jellyfishes, jump into the water to swim, and do a lot more fun.

The prequel spinoff has been created keeping die-hard SpongeBob fans in mind who would pay anything to know about SpongeBob’s life as a small kid. In contrast to Kamp Koral, The Patrick Star Show may seek to target a new set of viewers besides SpongeBob fans with the help of its new and refreshing concept.

Kamp Koral is set to make its way on CBS All Access in the mid of next year, however, there is no information as to when the starfish’s show will release, as yet. The good piece of news - since the voice recordings are already underway, the talk-show may be around sooner than expected.
