American metal band Metallica will return to the performing stage for the first time since the band’s last gig in 2019. The metal band is set to be the opening rock act alongside Encore Drive-In Nights series, showing a slowly set of outdoor theaters and drive-ins concerts across U.S. and Canada locations this coming August 29.

In light of the U.S. government mandates in preventing the spread of the coronavirus, all staff and employees of the drive-in concert will wear their PPE equipment, and vehicles will be six feet apart, Rolling Stone reported. The tickets and payments will also be different as it will be contactless. Encore Drive-In Nights’ official website will make known the roster of available theaters in the coming weeks.

In a statement, Metallica will be shot in a highly secret location not far from their hometown in Northern California on August 29. The said show will prominently give video clips and footage from their band’s career journey for the past ten long years. The central opening stunt will be done by Three Days Grace.

The tickets for the upcoming show will go on sale to the fans on August 12 and the everyone two days after. According to Billboard, the single ticket is equivalent to six heads with four downloads from the heavy metal band’s “S&M2” album. The said album is also a concert movie that features the group Symphony on August 28.

“S&M2” is a 2019 film that was shot at the San Francisco Chase Center that shows the team-up of Metallica and the world-renowned symphony. Metallica recently teased their beloved fans a sneak peek of their rock performance of the “Moth Into Flame” track. The teaser also comes with the band’s forthcoming release titled “All Within My Hand” and “Nothing Else Matters.”

Raising their fans’ anticipation level, the group shared a rehearsal content to their official Instagram account. The video played “Creeping Death” on the background. The video clips show the band properly observing the social distancing mandate. The band’s official Instagram account posted the announcement.
